More than 20,000 elite athletes, celebrities, club runners, and fundraisers took part in the 25th Great South Run at Southsea on 25 October, 2015. Among them were six members of staff from Coomers at Bordon and Oakhanger, who ran 10 miles in aid of GUTS - the local bowel cancer charity.

The Coomers team comprised: Martin Lillywhite, Tim Knight, Steve Armstrong, Louise Beaven, Stuart Knight, and Shane Taylor. In addition, Mr T Knight, Mr S Knight, Mr Armstrong and Mr Taylor were placed third in the "Medium Business Challenge", with a time of 05:06:14. They followed very closely behind Autodesk (team 1) - the runners-up – with a time of 05:03:45, and Checkatrade (Male CAT team) - the winners - with a time of 04:59:28.

Donations are still coming in but Coomers estimates that the final total raised for GUTS from this run will be around £1,300. The builders’ merchant is still accepting donations in the store and also online at:

Coomers has been fundraising for GUTS throughout 2015 and would like to thank everyone who has kindly sponsored its runners. The company hopes to have raised over £3,500 for this local charity by the end of 2015.
