The Encon Group has become a member of the 5% Club – a not-for-profit organisation that encourages employers to identify ‘earn & learn’ opportunities in their business as part of building and developing their workforce.
By joining, members aspire to achieve 5% of their workforce in earn and learn positions within five years of joining. These include apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formalised training schemes.
As an ‘Employer of Choice’, the leading independent distributor is committed to the ongoing development of new and existing employees so they can fulfil their goals and ambitions to the best of their ability. Joining the 5% Club demonstrates the Group’s focus on continual investment in its people and skills and encouraging long-term careers.
Training is delivered through a mix of external providers, apprenticeship programmes and in-housing coaching so employees can build their knowledge and expertise through dedicated qualifications and role related training.
HR HSEQ Director, Deborah Gore, said: “Encon works hard to help our employees learn, grow and reach their full potential, underpinned by a culture of continual encouragement and development.
"The 5% Club aligns with our commitment to training and learning opportunities for new and longer-term employees and building a diverse and sustainable workforce for the future. In turn, we continue to provide the level and scale of technical expertise our customers have come to expect from all our specialist divisions.”
