IT Support Engineer responsibilities:

  • Providing IT helpdesk service; by phone, in person or remotely
  • Responding to requests for help with IT queries, providing first line support and advice to users
  • Ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all data by pro-actively offering advice on security and general pc use
  • Advising staff of problems affecting the network
  • Supporting new staff on the set up of their desktop PCs
  • Installing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and desktop software
  • Installing PCs, printers, Peripherals, and related software within the company network
  • Trouble-shooting hardware and software, rectifying where possible and reporting persistent faults
  • User account creation, maintenance, and associated security of accounts; this covers a range of Microsoft applications such as Outlook and in-house applications for staff and financial records.
  • Liaising with external contractors as required
  • Working alongside/with IT Manager to support the network infrastructure
  • Assisting the IT Manager in the maintenance of the telephone system
  • Configuring user groups and shared areas on server
  • Assist with multi project streams of technical work alongside each other
