BIRMINGHAM: Jerry Witherstone has been appointed as managing director of leading mail order plumbing and gas supplies merchant BES.
He takes the reins at BES at an exciting time for the business, as it has recently moved a short distance across the Junction 6 Industrial Park close to the M6, to new and much larger premises as it plans for significant growth in the months ahead.
Mr Witherstone joined BES in 2006 as its Supply Chain Manager before promotion in 2010 to General Manager. In January this year, he was handed the top job and was responsible for overseeing the move from three separate premises on the site into the exciting new 77,000 square feet premises that house the offices and the warehouse all under one very large roof.
"These are important times for the business as we look to broaden the appeal of what we offer," he said. "constantly seeking to build our already impressive customer base. While BES is particularly strong in the Midlands, we have customers across the whole of the UK - and some much further afield as well! We target professional installers and offer in excess of 15,000 different products from stock.
