WIRRAL: Registered social landlord Wirral Partnership Homes has appointed Jewson as one of its preferred supply-chain partners. The contract, worth an estimated £900,000, will see Jewson provide building materials and a tailored service designed to improve efficiencies and achieve value for money.

With approximately 12,400 properties, Wirral Partnership Homes is the largest Registered Provider of affordable housing in the Wirral. As a socially responsible, not-for-profit organisation, WPH aims to work in partnership with residents and other organisations to build sustainable communities.

In order to secure the contract with WPH, Jewson underwent a rigorous tender process, which examined the merchant’s quality, service and pricing proposals. After demonstrating successful results - Jewson has been awarded with a four-year contract.

Brian Rooney, Stores & Procurement Manager at Wirral Partnership Homes commented: “We are delighted to be working with Jewson. Taking advantage of their tailored counter and delivery services we look forward to improving the quality of our reactive repair service and are expecting to benefit from significant cost reductions.”

Jewson offers a flexible and extensive range of service options for property care providers and has a proven track record within the public sector. From dedicated branches, field replenishment services to outsourced stores on new or existing sites - Jewson can fully support extensive maintenance and refurbishment works.

With Jewson’s counter and delivery service at its local Birkenhead branch, Wirral Partnership Homes will be able to deliver an even more efficient repair and maintenance service across its building stock.

Stuart Reed, sales manager at Jewson commented: “We have worked closely with WPH to devise a bespoke solution, which meets the registered social landlord’s exacting needs and we look forward to providing this level of service in the future to implement any on-going improvements required.”
