BANBURY: John Nicholls (Trading) is to move its plumbing and heating branch to a new, three-acre site in at Cottage Leap in Rugby.

The rest of the site will become a builders' merchant, selling building materials and timber and will open on 1 April 2012. It will be staffed separately, with managers for each both sectors, all under the company's trading banner.

The branch will occupy around 7000sq ft – over double the size of the existing branch and a further three staff have been employed in time for the opening, which is envisaged to be 1 February 2012.

Managing director David Hebdon said: "This is the start of the promised expansion of the business with Rugby being the most obvious place to expand where the company already has a good name in the area." John Nichols has nine branches in Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
