Poores of Chorleywood has been sold to the Lords Group of Companies.

The family business, dating back nearly 200 years, was recently bought by Lawson's who soon identified that it would not suit their business model. As a result, they have sold this branch to the Lords Group. Lawson's said that it was important to the business that they sold Poores of Chorleywood to a company with the same family values as themselves.

Lords has a significant presence in the builders merchants and housewares market and is building a strong reputation as an innovative retailer with the launch of its 'Lords of Notting Hill' brand. The family owned company opened its first retail store in 1985.

Shanker Patel, chief executive officer of Lords, said: "Lords is pleased to take over Poores of Chorleywood as it is in line with the retail business model we have developed in London. This is a significant step as a part of our overall expansion plan."
