Its first Annual Health and Safety Day on the 20 July celebrated the achievements that have been made over the last year in relation to accident prevention and mental health.

Timber cladding provider Prowood has announced proactive steps to provide mental health awareness and support to staff while building on its meticulous health and safety standards.

As part of its journey to continuous improvement, it has been investing in free and confidential support to help colleagues deal with personal, health, work, or any life challenges they may be experiencing.

With an additional focus on supporting colleagues, a number of staff have been trained as mental health first aiders to give them the knowledge to identify, understand, and help any of their colleagues who may be experiencing a mental health issue and where to go for help with their own mental health.

The timber and cladding provider has also recently become a member of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, to ensure its health and safety training courses meet the highest standards.

Prowood, part of the Haldane Group, has meticulous standards, having celebrated one year ‘accident-free’ in April 2023.

Phil Lomas, Managing Director at Prowood, said: "Our people are at the very heart of what we do, which is why it is essential that we invest in and support our staff.

“Our commitment to supporting our staff through all aspects of their lives is a priority for us so it is only right that we celebrate their achievements and show our care for them.”

To congratulate staff, Prowood hosted its first Annual Health and Safety Day on 20 July to celebrate the achievements that have been made over the last year in relation to accident prevention and mental health.
