The Builders’ Merchants Federation (BMF) and Builders’ Merchants News are pleased to announce the inaugural Dorian Dugmore Wellness Award, celebrating employees who have gone the extra mile with a commitment to their personal or corporate wellbeing.
This Award has been designed to recognise those employees who have gone that ‘extra mile’. The Award is open to any individual within a company who has demonstrated a commitment to either their personal or corporate wellbeing. This may be centered on their own health and fitness in achieving set goals, or could also be the inspiration and commitment they have given to inspire others within their company to meet their own goals.
The winner will be announced during this year’s BMF Members Day on 16 and 17 September, 2014. The event will take place at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire, and is focusing on the theme of 'Accelerating Growth'. The winner will also be invited to join Dr Dorian Dugmore on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of St George’s Park, the English Football Association’s national football centre in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.
The centre acts as a base for the coaching and development work undertaken by the FA, and acts as a training ground for all England national football teams.

Dr Dorian Dugmore will present the Award to the winner on the night, and will play a key role in choosing the winners.
Dr Dugmore is CEO of Wellness Academy and an internationally recognised expert in cardiovascular health, preventative medicine and wellness. He has been working in Cardiovascular Medicine and Wellness for over 30 years and has written extensively on health, exercise and heart disease. His work has earned numerous awards including an MEB “Heart of Britain Award”, for services to the community.
Dr Dugmore was recently given the title of corporate wellness director at St Georges Park. Wellness Academy and its team of experts help companies design and build a Wellness Plan alongside their Business Plan. “I am very proud to share this role in promoting health and wellbeing throughout the BMF Members and Associates and look forward to presenting the first ever Wellness Award at Members Day in September,” said Dr Dugmore.
