The Role

Reporting to: Branch Manager

As an Operations Assistant,  your role will be to support the smooth and efficient running of daily operations by coordinating stock control, processing orders, assisting with logistics, and ensuring excellent customer service. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting the operations team, and helping to ensure the branch runs effectively and meets customer needs.

Main duties involve:

  • Route planning deliveries
  • Booking deliveries with customers/sites
  • Booking couriers
  • Supporting warehouse staff, checking picks and loads
  • Supporting Drivers with booking vehicle maintenance
  • Complete the admin process for the H&S Safety and arrange sign-off for the safe system of works.
  • General Administrative duties, printing picking notes, invoicing, filing PODs
  • Your time will be split 50% in the office 50% in the warehouse.
  • Support answering phones when in the office

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to enjoy working within a busy environment as part of a small team where professionalism and a high level of customer service are key to success.

Other skills required include:

  • Previous experience working in a distribution environment
  • Forklift licence
  • Well Organised
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident liaising with customers and suppliers both over the phone and in person
  • Enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Strong attention to detail

Location/Area: Essex

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience

Working hours: Mon- Fri
