LUTTERWORTH: PTS’ commitment to developing its spares offering took a step forward last month when the BSS Group announced the acquisition of wholesaler and distributor, Direct Heating Spares.

PTS originally teamed up with DHS in 2006 when it began offering spares at its own trade counters for the first time. PTS will continue to trade autonomously with DHS, allowing the leading merchant to continue its ambitious spares branch opening schedule while meeting increased demand from customers.

The acquisition will see Mick Magon, who was PTS business development director, become managing director of DHS. Mr Magon, said: “With more homeowners looking to repair rather than replace boilers in the current climate, the acquisition of DHS will be important in serving our customers to the highest standard.”

Alan Ball, managing director of PTS, added: “DHS is a high quality business and this is an important acquisition in a growing spare parts market.

"PTS has worked in partnership with DHS for a number of years so are perfectly placed to support the continued development of spares branches and the spares express delivery service. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to expand the services available to installers and our continued position as a strong market leader.”
