Following a fire last year, the SIG Roofing branch in Dundee is fully reopening with a completely new look, given the extent of the damage caused.

On 27 February 2022, a fire claimed the warehouse, store, and sales office, forcing the business to shut. In the following months, while the building underwent the necessary repairs and reconstruction, staff worked hard to ensure business as usual.

Something that George Stewart, Regional Director for SIG appreciated. He said: “The staff have been phenomenal; throughout the entire process they’ve really worked hard.

“Thanks to their efforts the branch was able to operate on site from the Wednesday after the fire, albeit with reduced capacity working alongside the construction team who were building the new branch. This helped ensure customers’ needs were met.”

Reflecting on the past few months, Branch Manager Paul Morrison, who has worked with architects and contractors to ensure the branch reopens, commented: “It has been tough, but we’ve powered through. We’re looking forward to opening and being able to better serve the local area.”
