The new facility replaces two existing SIG Distribution sales offices based in Ruislip and Heathrow
UK’s leading specialist construction materials supplier, SIG Distribution has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art 169,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Heathrow, West London.
Known as SIGD West London, the site that has been servicing customers for a number of weeks amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, became fully operational from Monday 18 May 2020.
This new sizeable facility replaces two existing SIG Distribution sales offices that were based in Ruislip and Heathrow. Its position and increased stock holding has been designed to ensure it offers its customers an improved level of service. The facility is built to house an unrivalled breadth of stock across its broad product offering.
Philip Johns, SIG Managing Director UK, said: “With the opening of the SIGD West London site we are well positioned to offer an increased level of support to our customers during these challenging times for the industry.”
Since his appointment in April this year, Johns has been keen to drive the business to support its customers by the re-opening of sites across the SIG Distribution network.
“I want to put the customer at the heart of everything we do at SIG,” said Johns. “We have a great spread of sites across the UK and with flagship distribution centres in Manchester and now at Heathrow, we can offer an unrivalled stock holding across all of our product areas. Our goal is to ensure that we are able to supply the products our customers want, when they need them.”
SIGD Distribution is continuing with the phased re-opening of its sites following their temporary closure at the end of March.
