Reporting to: Managing Director

The Role

The role of Sales Director to support the development of the sales operation across the business within the ROI, NI & GB markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies to promote sales growth in line with the company sales objectives.
  • Drive and oversee the development of their domestic, contract specification, and export sales opportunities at strategic and tactical levels.
  • Build relationships with key Merchant, Distributor and OEM customers in conjunction with the Managing Director
  • Manage, mentor and develop the existing internal and external sales teams. Maintain and develop the company culture to support and develop the team to perform the best that they can, coaching them to achieve their career aspirations whilst strengthening commercial and product category expertise throughout the Division.
  • Perform regular sales reviews with the sales representatives, creating accurate sales forecasts with your team to be delivered to the Senior Management.
  • Display strong time management skills.
  • Continuously assess the market to identify new customers and opportunities.

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, managing a professional sales team within the construction and/or heating and plumbing industry
  • Experience in trading with merchants, distributors and agents within Ireland and export markets.
  • BA or equivalent/higher qualification in finance, business or engineering discipline.
  • A strategic thinker, planner with a proven entrepreneurial mind-set and great leadership skills
  • Strong data analytical and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable, successful track record in a similar role
  • A proven people person, great communication and networking skills, excellent at building relationships and trust with co-workers and customers

Qualifications required

Ideally, the successful candidate will be educated to BA level, but not essential, you must be able to demonstrate at least 5 years relevant experience in field sales with a proven track record
