Due to internal promotion our client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead their established Sales Team.

The ideal candidate would have experience working in the Timber Importer/Timber Merchant Sector and have prior experience working as a Sales Manager. The position as Sales Manager is for a professional individual that has the ability to manage and motivate an established Sales Team while continually look to encourage growth & personal development.

Reporting to: Depot Director    

The company is one of the UK’s leading Timber Merchants & Distributors and as Sales Manager you will be required to oversee the day to day management of the Sales Team; to ensure the team achieve sales, volume and margin targets. You will be promoting the companies Timber & Timber Products to exciting sectors including Shopfitting & Refurbishment Companies, Fabricators / Manufacturers and Builder & Timber Merchants.

Key Responsibilities as Sales Manager

  • Lead manage & develop your Sales Team
  • Continuous improvement of sales & customer services to enhance profit and growth opportunities.
  • Quoting and costing customer requirements  
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identify key players
  • Maintain & expand your data base
  • Seeking out active sites and making the necessary contacts and winning enquiries & ultimately the business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Senior Sales Mangers role
  • Experience within the building supply trade essential  
  • General Construction knowledge essential & knowledge of the Construction sector
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead & manage a Sales Team
  • Liaise with the companies supply chain team, suppliers & Manage stock.  
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer focused with sound commercial skills.
  • Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
