ESHER: Martin Mongan has joined Hansgrohe as head of sales for the UK. Responsible for all channels: retail, contract and multiples, this newly created position will bring a strategic focus to the overall sales function at Hansgrohe UK.

With an extensive and proven track within the industry, Mr Mongan is a well-known personality and has a CV spanning some of the biggest and most successful bathroom brands. His career started in the North East where he spent eight years working as part of the family bathroom retail operation.

Having helped the business achieve several awards Mr Mongan moved into the realms of bathroom manufacture joining what was then Spring Ram, in retail sales management for the Vernon Tutbury and BC Sanitan brands. Continuing a successful career path, Mr Mongan remained with the group for eight years, through the formation of the Jacuzzi UK Group in 2000. His final 4 years were spent as group sales director responsible for all the Jacuzzi UK brands.

Following a three year break from the industry, during which Martin helped run his wife’s event management company, he took the plunge back into bathrooms joining Kohler in 2009 where he was responsible for the commercial management of the Kohler and Daryl brands in the UK.

Mr Mongan describes his rationale for joining the Hansgrohe UK senior management team as ‘an opportunity too good to turn down.’ Highly experienced in commercial and management roles and with an in-depth knowledge of the bathroom market, Martin will lead the already successful UK sales team of 25 and looks forward to taking the business to the next level.

Mr Mongan commented: “Hansgrohe is a brand that I’ve admired since my early retail days. It will be both exciting and a challenge to work across all channels with overall responsibility for the UK sales strategy and I can’t wait to get started.”

Iain McKinlay, Hansgrohe UK managing director has known Mr Mongan for several years and commented on his appointment: “I have personally known Martin for around twenty years and always admired him for his energy and industry knowledge – even when he worked for competitors! I wish him a long and fruitful career with Hansgrohe.”
