The Role

This is a development role in an industry that is still in its infancy. Focused on gaining specifications and awareness amongst in the design and contractor community. Ideally but not essential, the successful candidate will have experience with one or more of the following key customer targets; Architects, Landscape Architects, Public Health/Drainage Engineers, main contractors, waterproofing industry, roofing applicators and landscape contractors.

The role currently has an element of project management, and a seasoned manager will have a 70% specification 30% project management role split. As this is a development role, we envisage a heavy biased towards specification and development. However, project management will be required as part of training and development, so traveling outside of patch may be required on occasion to facilitate this.

To compliment the split between specification and project management, account management of target stakeholders will be required. This will also lead on to opportunities with shorter lead times, however the bulk of opportunities will be specification, and the longer lead times should be expected.

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Develop technically strong specifications for blue/green roofs
  • Create specifications that maximise our Client’s product portfolio for rainwater reuse and urban greening
  • Present CPD’s to architects, consultants and all stake holders 
  • Promote and create awareness of the brand by networking at key industry events and social media
  • Identify projects opportunities where the company can add value and develop at the earliest stage
  • Provide robust project management from concept through to main and subcontract award, attending design meetings and providing toolbox talks when necessary
  • Liaise with our technical, marketing and commercial departments to share knowledge and develop ideas to create better experiences for internal and external customers
  • Build strong relationships with key partners to promote the brand and services
  • Develop partnerships with waterproofing and landscape contractors
  • Deliver consistent high standards of service to customers
  • Support internal teams with enquiries
  • Maintain high standards of the team and promote the company culture
  • This is a development role with opportunity for the successful candidate to grow and develop within the business. And will provide a large degree of autonomy based around the line manager’s strategy

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Experience within a Specification/ Specification Sales Role. Preferably dealing with architects, landscape architects or drainage consultants
  • Those with a technical background with experience in the Construction Industry will be considered
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to problem solve and use own initiative
  • Confidence, patience, politeness, tact and diplomacy, when dealing with difficult situations and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Creative thinking, to be able to come up with new ideas to improve service and product offering
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Educated to a Degree Level or Equivalent is desirable although not essential
