LONDON: Weyerhaeuser Products, the European operation of international forest products company, Weyerhaeuser, has been approved as an Overseas Associate Member of the Timber Trade Federation (TTF).
This latest course of positive action comes just weeks after the company announced its Lumin plywood range is PEFC certified.
Having previously supplied evidence of a Responsible Purchasing Policy (RRP) to TTF members, Weyerhaeuser will now formally provide this information as an associate member of the TTF. Moreover, as the majority of its UK customer base is already part of the TTF, membership also provides a strategic opportunity to further align the company and its activities with this network.
Nick Boulton, Timber Trade Federation, comments: “Weyerhaeuser coming on board as an Overseas Associate Member of the TTF is a signal that our organisation is growing in influence, both in terms of our size and the members we attract. With our members spanning the wood and wood products supply chain, we are pleased to welcome Weyerhaeuser as a forest products company and look forward to an active contribution to our activities.”
John Guerin, European managing director, concludes: “We are keen to demonstrate to our existing customer base and the wider timber market that we are a committed and responsible and sustainable supplier to the UK market. As part of the TTF we want to play a proactive role and help shape the future of the industry – working closely with our customers and the other members.”
