Independent buying group IBC is pleased to announce that the winner of its first Supplier of the Year award is International Plywood Importers (Panel Supplies).

Sales and operations director, John Brett, said: “I’m delighted to award International Plywood with the first IBC Supplier of the Year award. When we announced the launch of the first Supplier of the Year award in May last year we agreed on the judging criteria being a mix of growth, pro-activity and member satisfaction over a 12 month period.

“We have seen International Plywood work closely with our members to help show them better savings as well as an improved service. Its sales team have developed close relationships with both our members and the IBC team. The company continues to apply itself to growth in the market and within our membership, and it’s for these reasons it has won this year’s award.”

Mr Brett continued: “I would like to congratulate our runner up OX Group who has seen its sales grow rapidly due to its innovative and fresh marketing approach. I would like to thank all of our suppliers for their continued support and we look forward to working with you in the year ahead.”

Along with this award, IBC has also announced that the Salesperson of the Year award has been awarded to Lafarge Tarmac’s Nathan Roberts.

National sales manager Marc Coulson said: “We work very closely with our partner suppliers sales people and we have developed a good relationship with all of them. Nathan has shown his desire to not only help Lafarge Tarmac grow its business, but also his eagerness to help IBC members increase their sales. He has represented not only Lafarge Tarmac but IBC with an admirable amount of integrity and passion, and we look forward to continuing to work with him over the years ahead.”

Mr Coulson continued: “We’d also like to congratulate Castacrete’s Neil Finn for coming runner up this year with his diligent work in helping to re-brand and re-launch an existing range with new and exciting products. The past 12 months have seen changes and challenges for the industry and we’ve realised now more than ever the importance of working in partnership with our suppliers sales teams. We’re lucky to work with some of the most passionate people in the industry and we’d like to thank them all for their continued support.”

The judging has now been reset and the IBC Supplier and Salesperson of the Year Awards for 2015/16 are now underway. If you’d like to find out more about IBC, visit www.ibcbuyinggroup.com.
