NORFOLK: Sales of DIY products and building materials are expected to soar after an 80ft high tornado toppled trees and tore the roofs off buldings, leaving a trail of wreckage as it spiralled towards the countryside outside Norwich.
The fierce winds caused hundreds of pounds of damage to many homes.
A second tornado was spotted by researchers Weatherquest on Sunday in Long Stratton, near Norwich. John Hammond, forecaster at the Met Office, said: "Tornadoes are part of the weather system in this country and we have around 30 a year. But it is rare to see them cause this level of destruction."
