Our client is a well-respected timber & builders’ merchants. Due to their continued success and expansion, we have a fantastic opportunity as we are recruiting a Trade Counter Sales person to join their team.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Be the first point of contact for customers arriving at the branch
  • Service customers over the trade counter and over the telephone
  • Provide good customer service and good advice on products for their customers
  • Make proactive sales calls to new and existing customers 
  • Assisting with general branch duties
  • Replenishing stock and helping keep the front of house presentable
  • Carrying out stock checks

The ideal candidate would need to have a good knowledge of plumbing and heating materials but is not essential.

Our candidate would have the following traits.

  • Good literacy, numeracy, IT skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Flexible approach to duties and tasks
  • An ambitious outlook
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Plumbing and heating knowledge preferred but not essential

 

Hours: The role is working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm (shift time to be agreed)
