MAIDENHEAD: Two more merchants will join Cemco in the new year. Plumbstore (Plumbing & Heating Supplies) and Norman Piette - Timber and Builders Merchants, Guernsey will both be a part of the buying group from 1 January 2012.

Plumbstore is one of Scotland's largest independent plumbing and heating supplies merchant with its head office in Glasgow with a further 11 branches throughout Scotland and a turnover of £17 million. They are positioned strategically with ongoing expansion plans and are committed to moving the purchasing power over to the Cemco supplier agreements.

Fred Stevenson, Plumbstore director commented: "Joining a progressive organisation such as Cemco. which even at this early stage has shown itself to be extremely well organized and proactive, gives us the opportunity to prosper next year in a very difficult market place. It is exciting and we look forward to doing our bit to make Cemco even stronger in the years to come."

Norman Piette is not only the largest builders' merchant in Guernsey but one of the oldest in the British Isles - it was formed in 1739. Records exist which show that English oak sawn in Guernsey was supplied to the admiralty for the building of Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory. Expansion through demand for housing due to a broad socioeconomic population expansion and acquisition makes Norman Piette Guernsey's largest independent builders merchant with a buying power of £13 million.

Both these companies are welcomed into the Cemco organization making the total number of key independents 33 companies with 155 branches.
