SCOTLAND: Beatsons Building Supplies, one of Scotland largest independent merchants, welcomed Youth Employment Minister Angela Constance MSP when she visited the Alloa branch to meet trainee Jack Mrozs.
Mr Mrozs is employed by the merchant under the Government’s 'Get Ready for Work' scheme. The minister also visited a number of trainees employed under the scheme in Clackmannanshire.
Ms Constance discussed Mr Mrozs' training and asked for his views on how the scheme worked for him. She then spoke with Beatsons' branch manager Paul Byrne and director Mark Northway, about the importance of providing training for staff in a modern workplace.
The visit was also an opportunity for the minister to hear how politicians could help small business struggling through the recession.
