Tracking firm helps Britain's transport fleet beat the freeze

Published:  22 January, 2010

MIDDLESEX: As the snow refuses loosen its grip on the UK, Tracker is reporting up to a 32% reduction on journeys by business drivers.

To help businesses plan fleet activity and minimise the impact of the big freeze and poor traffic conditions, the fleet tracking firm is launching its new online traffic and travel service.

Available by visiting the company's site and clicking on the 'Traffic' tab, the service allows users to view detailed information to help them plan their journey. Using standard Google map controls, Tracker Traffic and Travel helps businesses find their chosen location view and display up-to-date local traffic congestion, roadside cameras, roadworks and accidents, allowing them to avoid unnecessary delays.

Said Stephen Doran, managing director of Tracker. "Winter isn't over yet and with more snow forecast, you don't need to be a customer to benefit from our service."
