The winner of this year’s Trucky Dip competition, which ran from 9 July until 12 September, has been announced.

Daron Cleverly, from Cardiff-based building firm CAL Builders, has been crowned winner of Jewson’s national competition. Mr Cleverly’s prize was a new Isuzu D-Max truck worth over £20,000. He was surprised with the news outside Jewson’s Cardiff branch, under the pretence that he would be attending a seminar on roofing.

"This is amazing; I’m absolutely thrilled,” he said. “I entered the Trucky Dip competition on my phone and as I'm generally skeptical about competitions, I never really imagined winning a brand new truck! The truck is ideal – thanks so much to Jewson.”

Gareth Drew, online marketing manager for Jewson, added: “I am really pleased Daron won. He is a regular face in our Cardiff branch and it’s great to see him drive off in the new truck. This is the second year we have run the Trucky Dip competition in partnership with Isuzu – the pick-up truck prize is ideal for the modern tradesperson.”
