Selco Builders Warehouse got into the swing of things at a recent charity golf day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event took place at Essendon Country Club in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, with a total of 65 staff and suppliers taking part. An impressive £6,640 was raised, and formed part of a £20,000 instalment presented by Selco’s chief executive Chris Cunliffe to Macmillan.

“It was a fantastic day, both for the golf and the evening dinner and auction we had after the round had finished,” said Jamie Robinson, manager of Selco’s Tottenham branch, who organised the event. “We were delighted to raise such a significant amount and would like to thank everybody who contributed on the day.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is very close to all of us at Selco Builders Warehouse and there is a real pride at the amount of money raised over the last couple of years.”

Selco has already beaten its target of raising £150,000 for Macmillan in three years. The target since 2012 has been to raise £50,000 each year.

The golf day was run on an individual and team Stableford scoring system format, with Marc Roff of GRS Roadstone winning the supplier’s prize, and senior category manager Mark Fall receiving the Selco award.
