Carvers Building Supplies is now in the final stages of its rebuild programme, after two and a half years of recovery following a fire that devastated its Littles Lane premises in 2012.

In the next few days, managing director Henry Carver will fulfil his promise to “regroup and rebuild” following the fire by launching the showroom facility and Builders Village, which offers a purpose-built customer showroom and café.

Carvers is welcoming Dixon Paints, Tile Choice, Chandlers Roofing and Rayton Electrical into its fold, and the two-storey Dixon showroom covers all manner of decorating materials, including Farrow and Ball and more specialist paints and wallpapers. The Tile Choice showroom, conveniently located next to the Bathroom showroom, includes a huge range of wall and floor tiles and accessories.

An information point is located at the store entrance with a team of staff ready to help and specialist trade counters offer a complete range of power tools, workwear, ironmongery and electrical products.

“We are delighted to be launching our new facility,” said Mr Carver. “Many employees and directors worked tirelessly – including weekends – to move stocks, and I am sure, as we enter our new home, that we will all reap the benefits and know that the challenges we have faced since the fire will not only have a happy ending, but will also help us build a better business for the future.”

The first Carver building to emerge from the ashes was the Drive Through Trade Warehouse in July 2013, housing a full range of insulation, plasterboards, cement, timber and joinery products. The Drive Through has a centre drive lane and parking lanes on either side, allowing vehicles to park next to the materials and be quickly picked and loaded, while under cover.

July 2013 also saw the launch of the new Kitchen Design Studio, located underneath the existing Carver Cooker Centre, offering a wide variety of kitchen displays. The specialist Cooker Centre has in-house engineers providing service and repair and features brands such as Lacanche, Esse, Rangemaster, Falcon and Westahl.

The new facility officially opens on Saturday 8 November as part of a ‘VAT-free family fun day’. Local radio station Signal 107 will be on hand with music and promotions, and with free giveaways, goody bags and a bouncy castle and face painters to entertain the kids.
