Ecodhome, one of the UK's newest home automation providers, has agreed a deal with buying group IPG.

The agreement with IPG means that Ecodhome's My Virtuoso Home product – an automated wireless system that enables end users to remotely monitor gas and electricity consumption – will be the first home automation device agreement with the buying group.

Robin Beal, IPG managing director, said: "We are delighted to be working with such a new and exciting product range and pleased that this supplier has recognised the strength and opportunity available with independent merchants."

Simon Redmond, UK director for Ecodhome, said: "We're delighted to announce our new partnership with the IPG – an agreement that will help lay solid foundations for the brand in the UK.

"Home automation is a rapidly growing market, with products like Hive and Nest enjoying mass media exposure. The demand for systems that offer far more than just heating controls is gaining ground.”
