Polypipe is sponsoring Yorkshire Professional Cycling for the 2015 season, with the company named as ‘principle partner’.

The cycling team will compete in a number of high-profile road and track races throughout the year, including the popular Revolution cycling series. On board is World Cup winner Russell Hampton, among a roster of up-and-coming cyclists. Part of the deal will see the team named Polypipe Cycling Team for the duration of the year, and its members will wear Polypipe’s colours at all racing events to help the brand promote its underfloor heating.

Polypipe Cycling Team is based close to Polypipe’s two manufacturing facilities in Doncaster and works with cyclists from grassroots through to the professional ranks to ensure a career pathway for British riders. The team becomes Polypipe’s second cycling sponsorship, after it teamed up with Coventry-based MI Racing in 2013.

“This is a very exciting time for Polypipe, as we look to form a long-term partnership with an organisation that shares a similar view,” explained Rachel Smith, Polypipe’s marketing communications manager. “Polypipe Cycling’s determination to see British talent develop complements our values perfectly.

“We’re looking forward to harnessing the relationship, not only to promote our range of underfloor heating in increasingly innovative ways, but also to engage with our local community at a deeper level.”

Polypipe Cycling Team’s newly appointed directeur sportif Dean Downing added: “It is exciting to be working with a locally based, global brand. It’s no secret that I’m excited to work with a new group of riders in the team during my first year as directeur sportif, and to align with Polypipe in a long-term project will help take the team from strength to strength.”

The team will announce its 2015 team riders in the coming weeks.
