Nicholls & Clarke (N&C) has announced its sponsorship of the prestigious 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship, as part of its 140-year anniversary celebrations.

The company has signed a deal with Mark Cole, Pro motorsport race driver. The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is the fastest and most successful single marque GT racing Championship in the UK. The action is transmitted through ITV Sport, the official broadcast partner for the Cup. A number of races will be transmitted live on ITV4, with highlights screened on both ITV1 and ITV4 over the course of the season, reaching an annual audience of over 20m viewers.

The championship sits alongside the TOCA BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) series. The BTCC is the second largest attended motor sport race series in the UK outside the F1 GP Silverstone.

Mr Cole has over 25 years experience of racing, having won the same Porsche Carrera Cup championship back in 2002 in its first year in the UK. Mr Cole returns to racing following an eight-year sabbatical.

N&C says its association with the Porsche Carrera Cup 2015 will not only help to potentially increase the awareness of N&C to the wider marketplace, it will help better define its positioning in the market as a supplier, manufacturer and distributor of quality, high performance building products.

On 17 March, 2015, the Porsche Carrera Cup Pre-Season Test Day took place at Silverstone Race Circuit, where Mr Cole's new N&C livery, race suit and helmet were revealed.

Mr Cole said: "It was a good start, I would like to push a little quicker but Rome wasn't built in a day and we made good progress. I made a mistake on my tyre run which cost me about half a second but overall I'm very happy indeed. Nicholls & Clarke and Driver Intelligence have come along today with guests and I don't think I've ever had to work so hard out of the car but it has been a very good day and they have gone away very pleased. It's a positive start."
