Ibstock has invested in its vehicle fleet with the addition of 20 new trucks

The fleet expansion forms part of the company’s wider investment plans, geared towards meeting market demand to enable the timely construction of newbuilds.

Andrew Halstead-Smith, group marketing manager at Ibstock, said: “To meet the target for building 250,000 new homes a year, it’s vital that all elements of the supply chain play their part. Through the expansion of our vehicle fleet, alongside our continued investment in products and services – including improvements across our facilities to maximise brick production levels – we’re able to build on our commitment to ensure builders and merchants have access to the right products when they need them most.”

The company has also invested more than £22m in the redevelopment of its factory in Chesterton and re-commissioned one of its previously mothballed manufacturing sites in Leicester at the height of the recession. These measures, along with production enhancements across all sites, have helped ensure the company is able to meet the increased demand for brick products.
