Allister Frost, an expert in digital marketing communication, will share his expertise with delegates at the Builders Merchants Federation’s (BMF’s) Members’ Day in September. In addition to his keynote presentation at the event, he will also lead a workshop on digital marketing later in the day.

Mr Frost is the former head of digital marketing for Microsoft where he worked on strategy and campaigns for Office, Windows and Xbox. Now working with companies from Sony to mining company Anglo-American, Mr Frost uses examples from around the corporate world, including his own experience, to examine what the digital world means for business - not just how it operates now but how it will operate in a few years time. He looks at how reputations are created in hours by the interaction of businesses and their customers on social media and how businesses can avoid the hype and learn to be effective in this new world.

John Newcomb, managing director of the BMF, said: “In an age where Twitter and Facebook have become world conquering businesses in just a few years, it is vital that builders’ merchants understand the changing digital world and how they can best use it. This promises to be a truly educational segment of the day, examining how to incorporate digital as a means of communicating with and understanding customers.”

BMF Members’ Day takes place on 16 and 17 September at Carden Park Golf Resort & Spa near Chester. The event combines informal networking opportunities, a black-tie Awards Dinner, informative business sessions with thought-provoking guest speakers and the BMF’s AGM.
