Hitachi Power Tools has supported a local project in the North East of England that helps provide social opportunities for older men in rural communities.
The Royal Voluntary Service’s “Men in the Workshop” project helps prevent isolation and keeps people active and connected to their communities. Hitachi supplied a number of its tougher, faster and more advanced corded and cordless power tools for use in the workshop including combi drills, circular saws, jigsaws, and sanders.
“We are absolutely delighted to help this very worthwhile cause with a healthy supply of our power tools,” explained Simon Miller, brand manager of Hitachi Power Tools.
“Men in the Workshop” provides a place where older men can come together to recreate local traditional crafts, learn new skills, reminisce and socialise. The workshop also provides opportunities for the wider community to get involved, including the younger generation, to learn from each other, share skills and build friendships.
