One of the UK’s leading economists, Vicky Pryce, is to speak at the BMF Members’ Day in September.

Currently Chief Economic Adviser at the Centre for Economics and Business Research, Ms Pryce’s career has encompassed a wide range of senior corporate and government roles, and she has served as Master of one of the City of London’s Livery Companies, the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants.

Her recent posts have included senior managing director at FTI Consulting, director general for economics at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), and joint head of the UK Government Economic Service where she was responsible for evidence-based policy and for encouraging measures that promoted greater productivity in the UK economy. Ms Pryce had previously been partner and chief economist at KPMG and earlier held chief economist positions in banking and the oil sector.

Ms Pryce has also written, or co-authored, a number of publications including: Greekonomics: The Euro crisis and Why Politicians don't get it; It's the Economy Stupid, Economics for Voters; Restarting Britain, Design Education and Growth; and Redesigning Manufacturing.

John Newcomb, managing director of the BMF, said: “It is a privilege to secure an economist of Vicky’s calibre and experience to speak at BMF Members’ Day. In addition to her current role at the Centre for Economics and Business Research, Vicky sits on the BIS Panel for Monitoring the Economy and on City AM's shadow monetary policy committee. She has her finger on the pulse of the UK’s economic activity and the issues that affect it. This promises to be an enlightening session, which I am sure everyone will enjoy.”

BMF Members’ Day takes place on 16 and 17 September at Carden Park Golf Resort & Spa near Chester.
