Hanson UK has published its 2015 performance and sustainability report, which sets out progress against a range of targets covering people, carbon, water, waste and raw materials.
Highlights in the report include:
There was a small rise in energy use per tonne as production facilities were reopened to meet increasing demand, but not used to full capacity.
Hanson UK CEO Patrick O’Shea said: “We are investing in a new and improved production plant to help achieve our challenging carbon reduction targets and, most importantly, we have kept health and safety at the very top of our sustainability agenda.
“It’s clear from this report that we still have a lot of hard work to do if we are to achieve all our 2020 targets, but I am confident that with a continuing favourable trading environment we can – and will – succeed.”
