Three Burdens employees teamed up with Barclays Corporate Banking workers to walk the South West Coastal Path this summer, raising almost £2,500 for Prostate Cancer UK.

Terry Sloman, sales support manager, Jeff Duffy, salesperson and estimator, and Steve Ganter, area relief manager, all donned their walking boots to tackle the 45-mile route from Swanage to Weymouth, which crossed challenging terrain.

Mr Sloman, responsible for the company’s national accounts and sales office in Aldermaston, said: “It's crazy, but so is prostate cancer. We all knew we had bitten off more than we could chew, but we just didn’t know how much until the event itself.

“Eight of us set off at Swanage and only one had to finish four miles short of Weymouth and is recuperating. At least the weather stayed good, and the challenge now is to ensure we collect all the sponsorship money.”

The team hope to raise further donations to take them closer to their initial target of £3,000.
