Ideal Boilers has entered two teams in the RB Hull Marathon, with each aiming to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support charities.

The event will be staged on the streets of Kingston upon Hull on September 13. Ideal’s teams, which draw on personnel from departments across the business, will take on the course in relay sections. They will join more than 1,000 runners, taking in landmarks such as Hull City’s KC Stadium, the city’s Maritime Museum and some glorious countryside.

The charities together provide services to some of the UK’s 2.5 million cancer sufferers and their families. The care and support provided to patients is largely reliant on donations from fundraising activities.

“I haven’t run since 2005, but I’m looking forward to competing as a team and the challenge it presents,” said Chris Caton, commercial brand marketing manager at Ideal Boilers.

“The fact we’ve decided to run to raise money for cancer sufferers is really amazing. Both charities are very worthy causes, close to all our hearts.”
