The Construction Marketing Awards have recognised the achievement of Howarth Timber’s Rebecca Galyer, who was highly commended in the Emerging Talent category at the annual gala event.

Ms Galyer is the online manager of Howarth Timber and Building Supplies, which has been celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2015. Her achievements during the course of a landmark year for the company, and her commitment to the firm since joining in March 2011, have led to her being acknowledged as one of the industry’s rising stars.

As well as recruiting and managing a successful team of digital marketing specialists, Ms Galyer has overseen the creation and launch of Howarth’s brand new website in 2015, helping to catapult the firm’s digital operations forward and transform the web into a valuable revenue stream for the company.

Howarth Timber can trace its history all the way back to 1840, and it is now one of the UK’s largest privately owned timber companies, but managing the digital operations of such a historic firm required a broad skillset.

Ms Galyer’s achievements in her role came after a period of personal development in which she earned a certificate of achievement in Microsoft Project at Level One, and also achieved an APM Introductory Certificate in Project Management.

Further to her qualifications in management, Ms Galyer also gained a qualification in personal development from DMM Training and Development, in order to properly ready herself for the holistic responsibilities required of her role at Howarth Timber.
