It was certainly a time for spreading the goodwill at HiB HQ this month as the company presented not one but two cheques to the value of £4,759.90 to nominated charities Starlight and Mind.

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, £9,519.80 was raised in a fundraising challenge held last September, which saw 12 employees embark on the UK’s infamous Three Peaks Challenge. The gruelling trek saw participants summit three of the highest peaks in the UK; Snowdon (1085m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Ben Nevis (1344m) in just 24 hours in a bid to raise as much funds as possible for the businesses’ two chosen charities.

Robert Ginsberg, managing director of HiB, said: “While we’ve done lots of fundraising events in the past, as it was our 25th anniversary last year we wanted to take it one step further – and the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge seemed the perfect choice.

“Although it was certainly a tough ordeal, the outcome was fantastic with everyone getting on board to support us and helping us to raise such a significant amount for two very important causes.”

Mr Ginsberg continued: “Starlight is an incredibly inspiring charity which aims to grant wishes for terminally ill children, while MIND provides much-needed support to those suffering from a mental health problem – a cause which is even more pertinent given that it is now estimated that one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year. Both of these charities are close to our hearts here at HiB and we hope the funds will help to make a real difference.”
