Plumbing & Heating Group (PHG) recently held its second Supplier Day and Supplier Awards at the Carden Park Hotel & Golf Resort in Cheshire.

The Supplier Day began with a golf competition, with other activities offered to those non-golfers, which included 4x4 Jeeps, Quad Bikes and Laser Clay Shooting. Meanwhile in the evening, nearly 200 members gathered for the annual Supplier Awards to celebrate another successful year of trading between PHG and its suppliers.

PHG’s chairman David Pochin explained to the audience how far the Group has come since its formation in 2012 and how it plans to build on what it has achieved so far, as well as its ethos of trust and teamwork, and how it continues to deliver mutual competitive advantage to both its members and suppliers.

The awards were given out to those suppliers who have performed to a consistently high standard in all aspects of service in 2015. PHG introduced two additional awards this year, one for New Supplier of the Year and the other for Innovation of the Year. The latter award identified those suppliers who have delivered exceptional or outstanding innovation through product or service throughout 2015.

The winners of the awards were:

  • New Supplier of the Year – Kudos
  • Innovation of the Year – Ideal Boilers
  • Instinct Supplier of the Year – Inta
  • Bathroom Supplier of the Year – Roper Rhodes
  • Heating Supplier of the Year – Joule
  • Plumbing Supplier of the Year – Embrass Peerless
  • Overall Supplier of the Year – Ideal Boilers

The evening concluded with a charity raffle, which raised £5,000 for WaterAid, followed by an entertaining speech from ex Formula One racing driver and BBC Top Gear's (original) ‘The Stig’, Perry McCarthy, who was the guest speaker.
