Alongside its sponsorship of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series Portsmouth, Travis Perkins gave two college photography students the opportunity to be its official event photographers.

Supporting students is part of a longstanding commitment that Travis Perkins has to help young people into work, which is why the Portsmouth College photography students were selected to capture the event and the community donations the Group made as part of their sponsorship.

Carol Kavanagh, Group HR director at Travis Perkins, said: "Investing in early careers talent is integral to the success of the Group and we have several well established early career programmes including apprenticeships, traineeships, 'fast-track management schemes and more recently MBA and graduate programmes.

"Working with a local college to encourage young people to build professional skills alongside their studies presented a positive opportunity for all involved."

Portsmouth college student, Callum Gaskin, said: "Travis Perkins gave me the opportunity to use my photography skills by capturing the newly refurbished Southsea Skatepark. It was a great event to work at and gave me the chance to expand my portfolio - an experience I won’t forget."

As part of its sponsorship of the Louis Vuitton World Series Portsmouth, Travis Perkins also funded the Portsmouth Sailing Project, which provided sailing taster sessions to 1,000 local children. Travis Perkins plc also donated materials to refurbish the nearby Southsea Skatepark in Portsmouth.
