The h&b buying group reported strong individual results at its largest ever annual supplier event last week.

Nick Lander, managing director of the group, said: “The h&b strategy of selective growth and individual membership performance has resulted in strong year on year growth as a group. Back in April, we launched the Project 19 initiative, which is about collaborating with our suppliers, working on value chain innovation and driving out waste. It’s clear it is already bearing fruit”.

Steve Morgan, chairman of Redrow Homes, followed this with a speech, reported a strong performance and urged the government to think again with their stamp duty policy.

Mr Lander continued: “Our balance of formalising buying processes while maintaining the knowledge and character of our membership puts us in a unique position in the industry. The strong support for the event today only goes to emphasise the importance we play in the value chain.”
