Nick Sims has been appointed as managing director of St Albans-based builders’ merchant Buttle’s. He succeeds William Naylor, who is retiring after three years in the post.
Mr Sims has 30 years’ experience running multi-site sales and operational businesses within the building materials, timber, plumbing and heating and mechanical services sectors. Most recently he was managing director of Ridgeons builders’ merchants in Cambridge.
Peter Buttle, chairman of Buttle’s, said: “William joined us in early 2014 and has since steered the business back to a very sound base for future consolidation and growth. I would like to thank him for his contribution and I am very pleased to announce that he has agreed to continue on the Board of Buttle’s as a non-executive director.
“We are delighted to welcome Nick, whose experience will be invaluable as our business continues to grow ahead of our centenary in 2019.”
