The team of eight, made up of branch and head office staff, completed the challenge of scaling five of the largest peaks in the Lake District in less than 10 hours.

The challenge, already a tough one for the inexperienced climbers, was made even more difficult by tough weather conditions, injury and their mini-bus breaking down. Unperturbed by these obstacles, the group completed the challenge, ultimately raising £2,054 for Kellaway’s chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West.

This took Kellaway over its initial target of £10,000 for the local charity, with the total now standing at £12,223 raised in the past year. Commercial and Operations Director Sean Morgan, said: “We are delighted to have raised so much for such a worthy local charity. Children’s Hospice South West supports families in the most difficult situations, supporting both the healthy and unhealthy members of the family to ensure they can have as normal a life as possible.”

Sean continued: “This is the first year where we have had a headline charity and the business has come together so well to embrace the idea. Branches and head office staff have come up with fun ideas to engage with, and customers have bought into the whole idea brilliantly. It’s had a really positive effect on team unity within the company and staff are really proud of what they have all achieved. We will definitely be looking to beat our 2017 target in 2018.”
