The Tiverton branch of RGB Building Supplies raised over £1,200 during a fundraising week held in memory of much-loved former colleague Fred Tarr, who sadly passed away last year.

Fred was a karting enthusiast, so between Tuesday 29th August and Friday 1st September, customers had the chance to win an iPad by making a donation to guess the weight of Fred’s old kart that was on display in the branch. Additionally, a raffle took place throughout the whole of August and the branch held a bake sale on the Friday.

All the money raised will be donated to RGB’s chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West, which works with children with life-limiting conditions and their families from across the region.

Geoff Dobbs, Branch Manager at RGB Tiverton, said: “Everyone at the branch would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers who supported our fundraising week and helped us raise a fantastic amount of money for Children’s Hospice South West – a charity that Fred keenly supported. He is a much-missed member of our team and it was a pleasure to honour Fred’s memory in this way.”

Naomi Dymond, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West, said: “We cannot thank the Tiverton team enough for the wonderful fundraising they have done for Children’s Hospice South West. What a great way to pay tribute to their friend and colleague as well. We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and couldn’t continue to support the children and families who need us the most without fantastic teams such as this. Thank you, from all of us.”
