Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) Diplomas in Merchanting have been awarded to group of employees from Elliotts Builders Merchant.

Portsmouth Branch Manager, Bobby Smith Jr was awarded a Level 2 diploma. Totton Assistant Branch Manager, Dan Coombes and Chandler’s Ford Assistant Branch Manager Ian Woodhouse, were both awarded a Level 1.

The trio were awarded their diplomas after 2-and-a-half years of attending workshops and studying during evenings and weekends, but maintain that the effort was worthwhile.

“Doing this qualification has given me a better understanding of how the merchanting business runs as a whole”, said Bobby. “It’s allows me to run the Portsmouth branch more efficiently and effectively.”

Dan Coombes, Assistant Branch Manager at Totton, said: “It’s been good to action the things I learnt doing the diploma in an everyday working environment, especially around service and stock.”
