Builders’ merchant Ridgeons helped to fundraise as the main event sponsor at the Cambridge United Community Trust’s Gala Dinner.

The event was held at the Quy Mill Hotel and Spa in Cambridge, and raised over £20,000 for projects such as a disability sport programme run by Cambridge United Community Trust. Around 250 guests attended the dinner, which was the Trust’s second fundraising gala event.

The Trust was founded in 2005 and holds a series of sporting events and initiatives aiming to empower and inspire individuals to fulfil their potential through education, health and inclusion projects.

Ben Szreter, Cambridge United Community Trust’s CEO, said: “All in all, it was an excellent evening. Everyone had a great time and we are so happy we managed to achieve so much for the charity.

“We would like to thank Ridgeons for helping us make sure the charity dinner was a great success. With the amount raised, we can continue to use the power of sport to promote our three key themes: education, health and inclusion.”

Ben Giddings, Director of Merchant Sales at Ridgeons, added: "Ridgeons was delighted to be the headline sponsor at the gala dinner, since we have been very impressed with the work that the Community Trust is doing in the local area.

“As a company which is proud of its Cambridge roots and vision to help all members in the local community, we are pleased to partner with a charity focused on reducing the levels of inequality and improving lives across the city.”
