Costain has taken another step towards becoming the UK’s leading smart infrastructure company with the opening of a new technology centre.
The infrastructure solutions provider is moving the centre from Yatton to a bigger site at Worle, North Somerset. Around 150 employees will be relocating during 2018.
Costain has recently won a number of new technology contracts, including the M6 J21a-26 Smart Motorway contract and Motorway Incident Detection and Automated Signalling technology systems contract for Highways England.
The company initially focused on highway technology solutions such as motorway signage, signalling and CCTV systems. Since then it has expanded to projects such as technology solutions for clients in water, transportation and energy.
Chief Executive Andrew Wyllie CBE, said: “The further expansion of our technology capability through this enlarged Group-wide facility is another important step towards establishing Costain as the UK’s leading smart infrastructure company.”
