Travis Perkins has announced Prostate Cancer UK as the official charity to its golf tournament.

Now in its 15th year, the Travis Perkins Masters takes place from 31 August - 2 September on the Duke’s Course at Woburn Golf Club.

It is part of the Staysure Tour - a European golfing tour for men aged 50 and over.

The first day of the builders’ merchant’s tournament has been named ‘Free Friday’, as there is no entry charge, but donations to the charity are encouraged instead.

Prostate cancer is the common cancer in men, with an estimated 47,000 diagnosed with it each year in the UK. Prostate Cancer UK supports patients and their families during and after their treatment.

John Carter, Chief Executive Officer for Travis Perkins, said: "We are delighted that Prostate Cancer UK is the nominated charity partner of the Travis Perkins Masters this year.

“Our Keyline brand has supported Prostate Cancer UK for over nine years and has raised a considerable sum of money for the charity.

But, more importantly, we have taken an active role in raising men's health issues amongst our customer, supplier and colleague base across the industry, which is still relatively male dominated."
