The Building Services Research and Information Association has welcomed a new director with “an abundance of experience”.

Colin Goodwin has previously worked in the building services design and sustainable engineering sector with a particular focus on innovative building maintenance techniques.

He joins from energy services company Mitie, where he was also Technical Director. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Energy Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer. He is a Fellow of CIBSE, Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Engineers and a registered EurIng.

In his new role, Goodwin will direct the technical direction and focus of BSRIA, both now and in the future, and will provide top level technical, engineering and professional decision making.

The role also involves managing BSRIA technical input to regulatory, legislative and parliamentary activity, including energy policies and building regulations.

Chief Executive Julia Evans said: “Colin brings with him an abundance of experience and we see his appointment as an essential step in our continued development for the strategic direction BSRIA is taking, moving into 2019 and beyond.

“With Colin’s specific, top level engineering background, he can bring to the table key industry intelligence and foresight.

“All my BSRIA colleagues and board members know Colin is an excellent choice and welcome him to the role.”
